Hosted Accommodation Australia (HAA) is the recognised national peak industry organisation representing B&Bs, farm stays, guest houses, boutique hotels, cottages and other self contained, hosted accommodation. It was formed in 2008 under Bed & Breakfast, Farmstay and Accommodation Australia Ltd to unite the industry in Australia and provide influential representation with the Federal and State governments and with other national tourism and business organisations. It provides resources and information to the sector and runs regular and informative conferences. Membership of Hosted Accommodation Australia is open to eligible accommodation businesses across Australia. HAA’s publication, A Guide to Establishing and Managing an Accommodation Business covers all aspects of developing a business with internet and telephone contact details provided for the government agencies and other organisations you will need to consult. It also has templates for business plans, marketing plans, budget checklist, templates for guest registration forms and other useful documents. The Accommodation Association of Australia is a national body which has evolved out of the former Hotel Motel & Accommodation Association. The purpose of the Association is to provide a unified voice for the tourism accommodation sector. The Accommodation Association’s membership is made up of around 1000 properties, including hotels, resorts, serviced apartments, motels, bed & breakfasts, guesthouses, backpacker establishments, caravan parks and timeshare properties in metropolitan, regional and rural Australia. One of the Accommodation Association’s core activities is to build and maintain strong, positive relationships with key federal and state/territory political decision-makers. Their goal is to provide real information and tangible evidence on how policy issues are having an impact on the business of tourism accommodation beds in Australia.
